About the event
Be ready for more sand and shorebirds! We’ll see numerous shorebirds and other waterbirds as we walk along the sandy shoreline and slough habitat at Salinas River State Beach in Moss Landing. Potential species include curlews, pelicans, gulls, and possibly plovers! All levels of interest in birds and nature are welcome.
We will be walking about 0.5 miles, mostly across loose, deep sand in full-sun (unless it’s foggy!) Be prepared for variable weather.
Time and meeting: Meet at 2:00 PM in the parking lot at the end of Potrero Rd in Moss Landing, located HERE. This State Beach is free to the public, so is parking. We will return to the parking lot at 4:00 PM.
What to bring: Sunscreen, hat, water, layers. Snacks and water are recommended if you get hungry fast! If you'd like to borrow binoculars, please indicate how many during the registration process.
If you have to cancel after having signed up, please email Amanda at montereyaudubon@gmail.com to let us know!
