About the event
Our friends at the Pacific Grove Museum of Natural History are hosting a bird-themed Science Saturday on the last Saturday of August! This means free museum admission, plus fun outreach and activities for everyone to enjoy. But we'll be taking the fun outside, with a special Young Birders Club field trip down to Lovers Point. We’ll hopefully see the Heermann's Gulls and Black Oystercatchers that live there, plus search for other shorebirds and marine birds.
Time and meeting: Be ready for a short 0.4-mile walk to the coast from the Pacific Grove Museum of Natural History, where we'll be meeting. We'll start walking down to Lovers Point from the front of the Pacific Grove Museum at 10:30 AM and be back to the museum by 12:30 PM. If you'd prefer to meet the group at Lovers Point, please let Amanda know (montereyaudubon@gmail.com).
Parking: There is free 1-hour and 2-hour street parking near the Pacific Grove Museum. Due to the time of day of this activity and the popularity of the location, parking might be tough!
What to bring: Sunscreen, hat, water, layers. Snacks and water are recommended if you get hungry fast! If you'd like to borrow binoculars, please indicate how many during the registration process.
If you have to cancel after having signed up, please email Amanda at montereyaudubon@gmail.com to let us know!
