About the event
Description: Join us on November 15th and participate in the Point Pinos Seawatch. The seawatch runs dawn to dusk every day from November 1st to December 15th. We'll count all passing birds with special attention on migrating Pacific Loons, Surf Scoters, and other seabirds. We'll call the official trip from 10:00 a.m. to 1 p.m., but you're welcome to stay as long as you'd like!

We'll spend most of our time scanning the ocean, but we'll also walk a short distance along the coastal trail to add some additional species such as rocky shoreline loving shorebirds (Black Oystercatcher, Black Turnstone) and any birds around Crespi Pond.
Meet: We'll meet at the Point Pinos Seawatch (https://maps.app.goo.gl/YWB1oufLoh6McMas9). Note that you can now find the location for searching for "Point Pinos Seawatch" on Google Maps! Additional parking is available in adjacent pullouts with a short walk down the trail.
Trip Difficulty: Easy. Standing or sitting at the seawatch and some walking on smooth trails.
Facilities: Nearby Crespi Pond parking area has restrooms.
What to bring: Dress in layers (often cold and windy), sunscreen, water, snacks. Bring binoculars or a scope if you have them. Otherwise we'll have several available to share!
