About the event
On Saturday January 25 at 2:00 PM, MAS member Paul Fleischman will give a talk at the Marina library about his just-published picture book, The Class With Wings, which follows a 4th-grade class that mentally embeds itself in a flock of Veeries migrating from Brazil to Wisconsin. He'll describe his own discovery of the natural world, will show how to follow migrations via eBird, and will give recommendations on connecting kids with nature. The talk is free, designed for all ages, and will be January's event for the Monterey Audubon Young Birders Club. Books won't be sold, but bird watching kits, perfect for beginning birders, will be available for checkout from the library. Stay afterwards to practice using binoculars at Locke-Paddon Park next to the library. We'll explore for about 1 hour and see how many different birds we can find!
Please register for the presentation with the Marina Branch Library at 831-883-7507.
Time and meeting: Meet at the community room inside the Marina Branch Library, located HERE.
What to bring: If you'd like to borrow binoculars, please indicate how many during the registration process. We'll be exploring outdoors after the presentation, so dress warm!
If you have any questions about the activity or need to cancel after having signed up, please email Amanda at amanda.preece@montereyaudubon.org to let us know!
