Cemetery Birding at El Carmelo

Celebrate the Great Backyard Bird Count with a bird walk at El Carmelo Cemetery in Pacific Grove. This peaceful and unexpectedly birdy location is perfect for a relaxed morning of observation, learning, and connection.

Trip Difficulty: We will mostly stick to the paved road inside the cemetery.

What to wear: The weather can be tricky in Pacific Grove. It's always best to dress in layers for optimal comfort.

Meet: At the El Carmelo Cemetery entrance in Pacific Grove. Free parking is available on Asilomar Avenue right outside the cemetery (here).

Facilities: There are facilities available a short drive away at Crespi Pond.
