About the event
Description: Start your Sunday with birds at one of the Monterey Peninsula’s most accessible birding gems. We’ll look for Ruddy Ducks and Pied-billed Grebes paddling on the lake, Double-crested Cormorants roosting in the trees, a resident Peregrine Falcon roosting on the Embassy Suites, as well as a variety of chickadees, warblers, and sparrows in foraging in the surrounding trees. We’ll walk around Laguna Grande and explore the park as time allows.
Trip Difficulty: We’ll enjoy about a mile of easy, slow-paced walking on flat paved or smooth DG trails. Beginner friendly and family friendly.
Trip Leader: Shannon Simpson, Monterey Audubon Society Executive Director
Meet: At the picnic tables on the Monterey Side. Limited parking in the parking lot, but street parking also available.
Facilities: This is a popular city park with benches, drinking fountains and bathrooms, as well as the possibility of encounters with unhoused people.
Questions and RSVP: For general questions email info@montereyaudubon.org. Visit www.montereyaudubon.org/fieldtrips to RSVP
