About the event

July 19 - YBC will be held on the 3rd Saturday for all future events unless otherwise noted.

Be ready for the cuteness! There are 19 territories were Monterey Audubon volunteers monitor BLOY (Black Oystercatcher) activity from Cannery Row all the way to Asilomar! Join Amanda & Jeanette along the rocky coastline of Pacific Grove where BLOY monitor Paul will let us spy on the birds with him and take notes about the birds' behavior. We’ll also see other shorebirds and waterbirds as we explore along the rocky shoreline of Monterey.

We will be walking less than 0.5 mile, mostly along the hard-packed coastal trail from the Point Pinos rocks over towards the Great Tidepool area, all along Ocean View Blvd.

Time and meeting: Meet at 1:00 at the bench overlooking the Point Pinos rocks, located here: https://maps.app.goo.gl/LwfpKghPxey8JuTJ9 We will conclude by 2:30. Free parking is available all along Ocean View Blvd.

What to bring: Sunscreen, hat, water, layers. Snacks and water are recommended if you get hungry fast! If you'd like to borrow binoculars, please indicate how many during the registration process.

If you have to cancel after having signed up, please email Amanda at info@MontereyAudubon.org to let us know!
