About the event
Description: Calling all young birders! Whether you're a die-hard birder with your own eBird profile or just dipping your toe into the avian waters, you are invited to join in this field trip to Marina. Young birders and their supportive guardian(s) are invited to participate, free of charge, to help us discover what birds this park has to offer. Locke-Paddon Community Park has multiple habitats - marshy wetlands, chaparral, and an oak forest that is actively getting restored. 199 species of birds have been reported at this park via eBird! https://ebird.org/hotspot/L606387
We should be able to find nesting songbirds like Bushtit, Marsh Wren, and Black Phoebe, plus multiple raptor species like Red-shouldered Hawks, and Red-tailed Hawk. Other expected birds include woodpeckers, swallows, warblers and possibly a Lawrence's Goldfinch!
