With a focus on shorebirds and seabirds, this two hour field trip will cover sketching basics for capturing bird likenesses and improving your memory, ID recall, and field notes. Make sure to bring your journal or sketchbook, a pencil, and something to sit on if you don't want to sit on the ground. No prior experience necessary. More ideas for what you can bring: https://johnmuirlaws.com/field-sketching-equipment/ If you'd like to borrow binoculars, please check the box in the registration form and we'll bring them for you.

Meeting location: Meet on Sunset Drive at the main entrance to Asilomar State Beach, across from the conference grounds. Parking all along Sunset Drive is free, follow posted signs. We may go onto the sandy beach or walk along the coastal trail during the class.
