About the event
Description: Join geologist and Monterey Audubon Society board member Fred Hochstaedter and poet Laura Schulkind as they explore this question. The day begins with a nature walk, led by Fred, along the vibrant coast that inspired much of Robinson Jeffers poetry—in particular its rich bird life and fascinating rock formations. Binoculars will be provided by the Monterey Audubon Society.
With inspiration fresh in mind, we return to Tor House where Laura will share how a range of poets have been inspired by, and use, nature in their work. Further discussion will then continue over lunch.
Additional Information:
• Wear good walking shoes for uneven rock surfaces and walking in sand. The walk will begin and end at Tor House.
• Dress for the weather.
• Bring a bagged lunch. Drinks and light snacks will be provided.
• Plan to arrive by 9:45am to factor in time for street parking. When parking, please do not block driveways or mailboxes.
