About the event
Escape into the cool, tranquil canopy of Del Monte Forest in Pebble Beach. We’ll wander through the native Monterey pine forest containing endangered Gowen cypress and many bird species. Keep your eyes and ears open for woodpeckers, jays, nuthatches, and creepers, as well as other forest birds. With year-round wildflowers, ferns, and the rich scent of pine in the air, it’s a sensory experience you won't want to miss.
Logistics: We’ll meet at the Del Monte Forest trailhead located along Holman Highway 68. The pullout is labeled SFB Morse Botanical Reserve in Google Maps, and is on the right side of the road when traveling from Pacific Grove towards Highway 1 (eastbound on Hwy 68) here: https://maps.app.goo.gl/odQMK81TKQv3cNtr9
