About the event
Description: Come join us at Locke-Paddon Park in Marina, home to some stunning species! With Oak woodlands, Cypress groves, and native plant restoration in progress, we’ll likely be able to spot locally nesting bird species like the Red-winged Blackbird, Allen’s Hummingbird, White-crowned Sparrow, Marsh Wren, and more! This trip will utilize both sight and sound to help us identify and appreciate local species. This slow-paced trip is great for a beginner or the seasoned birder who wants to dive deeper into bird behavior and observe and discuss species interactions. Excursion will begin at 9:30 and conclude at 11:30.
Itinerary: Meet at 9:30 am at the parking lot for the Marina Branch Library
Trip Difficulty:
This birding walk will stick to the maintained paved or hard-packed dirt trails at Locke-Paddon Park. We won’t walk over 1-mile distance. There are a few benches to sit if needed.
