About the event

Trip Leader: Fred Hochstaedter, MAS board member

Description: Start your week right, birding at one of the Monterey Peninsula’s most accessible birding gems. We’ll look for Ruddy Ducks and Pied-billed Grebes paddling on the lake, Double-crested Cormorants roosting in the trees, a resident Peregrine Falcon roosting on the Embassy Suites, as well as a variety of chickadees, warblers, and sparrows in foraging in the surrounding trees.

Trip Difficulty: We’ll be traveling less than a mile over flat paved or smooth DG trails. We'll move at an easy, slow-pace - all the better to find birds. Beginner friendly and family friendly.

Meet: At the Chili’s Parking lot at 1349 Canyon Del Rey Blvd, Seaside, CA 93955 (here). Free parking is available in the large parking lot between Chilies and the Embassy Suites Hotel.

Facilities: This is a popular city park with benches, drinking fountains and ADA accessible bathrooms.
