Bird Cams

Remote cameras are a great way to watch birds from the comfort of your home. Plus you'll get to see lots of behaviors that we wouldn't normally see. Check out some of our favorite cams, listed to the right, and make sure to watch for the downtown Salinas Peregrine Falcons on the camera below.

Despite how ubiquitous they now seem, in 1975 there were only 324 known nesting pairs of Peregrine Falcons in the entire U.S.! This massive population decline was caused by the use of synthetic organochlorine pesticides. Those chemicals were banned and Peregrines (plus eagles, pelicans, and other bird species) rebounded!

Huge thank you to Mason Donny, who hosts the Salinas Peregrines camera!
