March, 2009

no program scheduled

April 14, 2009:

Don Roberson presents his choices for the "Ten Most Misidentified Birds in Monterey."  Don has been reviewing bird records regularly for 30+ years locally for North American Birds magazine, for his books, and now for eBird.  He's noticed certain trends in what birds get mistaken for something else.  This will be an illustrated bird identification talk - - something we haven't done at MPAS for some time - - with tips for all birders, from beginners to experts.

May 12, 2009:

Galapagos Islands
Enjoy a fascinating talk and video by Chris and Anne Hartzell, who recently completed a trip to the legendary Galapagos Islands.  Chris and Anne will share images and stories of their adventures while viewing birds and other wildlife unique to the islands.
