Easy access to the Elkhorn Slough channel makes the tidal mudflats and marshes along Jetty Rd. one of the premier traditional Monterey Bay birding areas.

Location:  Moss Landing is about 15 mi. north of Monterey on Highway 1.  Continue past the Moss Landing bridge 1/2 mi. to Jetty Rd.  Turn left into the park.

Highlights:  Cormorants, loons, grebes, waders, shorebirds, gulls and terns, ducks.

Best season:  fall through early spring.
